Accounting Assistant - Edmonton
Description

This is a great opportunity for someone with post-secondary training or certification in accounting or business/office administration looking to pursue further education related to accounting.

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for providing financial/administrative support in the areas of office operations, business processes and administrative procedures.

The successful applicant will have the ability to successfully deliver high-demand output in financial and administrative duties, as well as provide effective support to customer service and sales departments.

Responsibilities
  • Extensive cash handling and computer input balancing (Point of Sale System).
  • Accurate and timely order processing and distribution to customers.
  • Investigate order discrepancies to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Processing of both accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Credit review and collection functions.
  • Preparing deposits and timely bank entries.
  • Balance and track TD Visa charges/payments.
  • Bank reconciliations as required.
  • Review supplier statements for payment in accordance with supplier terms.
  • Accounting spreadsheet data entry and word processing functions.
  • Supporting Sales word processing/mailings administration as requested.
  • Handling customer inquiries/special requests, while further building/maintaining customer relations.
  • Inventory count administration when necessary.
  • Managing and ordering all stationery/office supplies/image wear clothing
  • Handling/distributing daily mail.
  • Regular faxing, filing and record maintenance.
  • Providing positive support for development/change in processes, administration and/or cultural branch goals.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience

Accounting experience:  3+ years (definite asset)
